Geogrids

Geogrids are structural elements used for reinforcing soil, in the building of retaining walls, block walls, and in reinforced soil, landfill and contaminated site projects. With their open-mesh structure, reinforcement geogrids offer strength of a “passive” nature where the cross strands meet the machine direction strands, thus increasing their inherent stabilizing effect and allowing the system to withstand considerable stress levels.

Laying grids may also be advisable in road applications, as they are designed to absorb strain, at least until the structure has reached its structural stability. Geogrids also prove necessary for reinforcing the surface area and limiting the spread of damage to underlying layers, improving load-bearing capacity and reducing stress transferred to deeper layers, as well as serving as a separation (and anti-contamination) layer
